Description

Avocado is a versatile, nutrient-dense fruit known for its green, creamy flesh and distinct, subtly nutty taste. Shaped like a pear, it is encased in a thick, dark green to black, bumpy or smooth skin depending on the variety, and features a large seed in the middle. The texture of the ripe fruit is buttery and can easily be spread or mashed, making it a popular ingredient in dishes ranging from salads, toasts to desserts. It is highly prized for its high content of healthy monounsaturated fats, fiber, and various vitamins and minerals. The distinct buttery richness of avocado makes it an excellent addition to both savory and sweet dishes, adding depth of flavor not easily achieved by other ingredients. Avocados should be stored at room temperature until ripe, at which point they can be refrigerated to prolong their use.

Grocery Store Location

Avocados are typically found in the produce section of a grocery store. They may be near other tropical fruits like mangoes and pineapples. If you're not able to find them, you can always ask a store associate for help.
