Grandma's Beef and Vegetable Soup

This recipe was handed down from my Grandma by word-of-mouth. As a child, during the winter, she would visit our house for Christmas time, and I would always look forward to (or begging for) this dish. It's simple, hearty, and delicious. This is perfect for a cold rainy or winter night.

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped beef and associated bone, water and beef broth. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes.
  2. Add crushed tomatoes, garlic, Italian seasoning, and onion powder. Bring back to a boil.
  3. Add frozen vegetables and simmer for 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender and the meat is cooked.
  4. Remove bone and server with sliced bread.
